Joy Han + Celebrities = Yummy

With the new arrivals of Joy Han’s winter and spring collection, it was hard not to give this post an extremely cheesy title. Some runners up: “Han-lelujah!” ”Jump for Joy!” and ”Holy Han!”

For the sake of our readership’s sanity, we chose to stick with a logical formula. What do you get when you cross one of LA’s favorite new designers with Hollywood’s best and brightest (and Paris Hilton)? That’s right: delicious ready-to-wear cocktail dresses in all colors of the rainbow.

There are a ton of options available at bevello (and even more from the Han herself), but here are some of the most popular choices among celebrities. Anyone want to play the “Who Wore It Best?” game?

Item A: The Chic Dress by Voom

Who wore it best? Well, she’s the only one we can find in it, other than our gorgeous customers.

Honestly? Kim Kardashian looks good in everything, so I wasn’t surprised she rocked it. What did throw me for a loop was that this dress is just like the jeans in SOTTP, it fits everyone and genuinely looks good on every size. It also pairs well with any color heels (some fun purple ones would be a cool look) and is comfortable enough to dance in.

Worth the $245 bevello price tag? I believe so, madame.

Item B: The Sandra Bubble Dress by Voom

Who wore it best? Ugh. I hate to say it, but Paris was looking tres chic and about 40 feet tall in this number, affectionately dubbed “The Sprite Can Dress” by one observant boyfriend at bevello. Love the tights, P. In case you were curious, Deja Kreutzberg is the other person wearing the dress. In case you have no idea who Deja Kreutzberg is (we didn’t either), she was in Sorority Row… which may be why you have no idea who she is.

My only issue with both of these ladies is that they wore their hair down. With a dress like that (the back laces up like a corset and there’s a killer silver sash), I’d like to see a slick ponytail or a simple updo.

P.S. This dress has pockets. OMG.

Item C: The Most Popular Dress in Hollywood…The Gwen Babydoll Dress

Who wore it best?

This is a tough one. Kay Panabaker is eliminated for poor posture in this picture (for shame!) and Jennifer Stone is eliminated for the shoes (too many stripes). Stephanie and Lea are both doing two things right. First, they both have killer, sculpted Michelle Obama arms that are highlighted by the woven rope straps. Second, they both have simple, tall heels. I like Panabaker’s idea of flats with this dress (it feels casual enough), but a babydoll style like this does wonders for lengthening one’s legs when paired with a good heel.

N.B. This dress also comes with bright purple, Cheshire cat-esque stripes which give the dress a whole new, flirtier look. Valentine’s Day, anyone?

Gotta Get dat…Gotta get dat…

Time to take skinny jeans to a whole new level!  Squeeze yourself into some jeggings.  This jean/leggings combo is taking Hollywood and celebrities by storm! Ive seen it in tons of celebrity mags !

Check out some pics of jeggings :

Whitney Port's legs are too skinny for jeggings ! Next Trend please!

I DO think there’s one rule for jeggings…Don’t go too big or too small. In other words…bird legs stay away and plus size ladies lets not go there with this particular style.  I think you have to be mid-sized to pull off this style for it too be a hit!

Where can you score your very own pair of jeggings?

American Apparel of course!

How do you wear your jeggings?

Do we always have to match?

Since the beginning of time, a cardinal rule of fashion has been to MATCH!  Match the navy blue striped shirt with the navy blue shorts. Match the pale pink floral dress with a pale pink cardigan and then find some pale pink shoes!     Geez!  matching is a lot of work!  How are we supposed to  match everything we wear down to the very color ?

I get that outfits are good when there is a cohesive statement but WHY ? WHY? must everything be so “Matchy-Matchy!!”

If you’re a “The Hills” fanactic such as myself, you’ve heard this phrase before, which has been coined in the fashion world… The following are some  quotes from” The Hills”  where the main character LC and friend Whitney are at Teen Vogue  for their first day as interns.

”Obviously the Teen Vogue style is all about the mix,” she says. (I mean, obviously.) And poor Whitney, apparently, is less about the mix than Lauren: All Lauren gets is a little jacket to throw over her clothes with little further critique; Whitney’s belt must be removed and replaced on the spot, and Olivia must tell Whitney, while she rejiggers her prairie-skirt ensemble, ”It’s a little too matchy-matchy. We’ve kind of done the Western look.”   (Jennifer Armstrong, Entertainment Weeklyhttp://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,1199503,00.html)

Ahh poor Whitney, she will never be able to live down being called “matchy-matchy” on national television.  Although I must say her style on “The Hills” spin-off  ”The City” is anything but matchy-matchy.  Did anyone see the dress she wore on the finale where she was at the DVF function and Jay came to see her? I mean usually I am awed by her fashion sense. But oh my god- seriously I think she may have been trying to prove something by trying purposely NOT to match…. I just didn ‘t get it Whit…

Enough on my reality binge.  Although I do love it so.  Matching should be a thing of past!

Down with the brides who insist their bridesmaids dye their shoes to match the god-awful dress that the bride purposely picked to be the most unflattering dress possible to ensure she will look the best !

Down with matching all our accessories, shoes and handbags with our outfits!

Now don’t get me wrong.  Playing off different colors in an outfit is a must! I am just saying lets not go overboard!  Get creative when mixing your outfits up.  That’s when you’re a true stylist!  Everyone can put some colors together.  But when you create a look mixing different styles and colors and you still look incredibly put together….that, my friends is a match made in heaven =)

I bet you’re asking how do I do this?  Well, its an aquired talent.  You get better with practice.  However I love looking at Lucky magazine for inspiration. I think their style editors are truly genious and put some amazing looks together that are anything but ordinary!
