Bevellonians, I ask you: what are your summer wardrobe staples? I ask because as I drove down good ol’ interstate forty today rockin’ my capris, tank top and short sleeved cardigan I think I nearly died of heatstroke. My car thermostat informed me that it was dangerously close to 90 degrees even at 5:00 today, and I don’t think things are letting up.
I’m not a fan of wearing super-short shorts because a) I feel way too exposed and b) they always ride up and are just uncomfortable. Anyone else with me on that one?
Luckily for us, the fashion gods have bestowed upon us the wondrous skirt, a glorious vesture both fashionable and practical — enabling us more modest women to survive a summer day without a pair of denim daisy-dukes riding up where they don’t belong.
Someone must have had the summer in mind when they picked this Sunray Yellow Corduroy Skirt by Flying Tomato, one of our beloved independent designers.

Flowy, free. YELLOW. Doesn’t it just LOOK comfortable? Right now: $25. Seriously? Seriously.
But wait, there’s more!

For a more formal occasion — maybe a date or dinner party — we have this Sunray Yellow Silk Tie-Back Skirt by Hazel, another of our up-and-coming designers. It’s a bit more at $60, but totally worth every dollar. This would look great paired with a dark heather gray!
But for those too nervous to leave behind the shorts, we do have a pair of denim walking shorts by See Thru Soul that run about mid-thigh, so there shall be no riding up!

So cute — on sale for $50!
Forget the booty shorts. Who needs ‘em?
