The Ladies of Bevello: Meet Natalie!

Bevello introduces Natalie!  Let’s see what bevello’s only brunette has to say about fashion and life! Natalie brings an artistic and friendly aura to bevello!

Q:    What drew you to bevello? (why did you want to work for us)

A: I came in to shop once or twice and realized that I’d be in the shop 24/7, so I might as well try and get paid to be there! I liked the raw materials (clothes and accessories), but what really won me over was how genuine and friendly everyone in the store was.

Q:    Other than bevello what else do you do?

A: I do a bit of intern work for the North Carolina Museum of Art in the communications and development departments. On my time off I enjoy reading, writing, cleaning and reorganizing my apartment, conning my friends into cooking for me (heh), playing wii trivia and going out in Raleigh. I’m also on a flag football team called “watch your grass” with some of my college buddies. I am terrible.

Q : Describe your personal style?

A: It depends on my mood! I’m a big t-shirt and jeans girl, but when I decide to get dressed up I tend to go toward either “naughty pilgrim” type pieces (conservative, clean lines with small splashes of color or unexpected elements) or Bohemian, light pieces with boots. I have a weak spot for plaid too! I had everyone wear plaid out to the bars for my 22nd birthday. It looked ridiculous, but the pictures are priceless.

Q: What is your favorite in house(bevello) designer?

A:  I love the Trinity tops because they are so soft…and organic! I also like Frenzii because  feels so effortless…aaahh.

Q: What is your favorite other designer( non-bevello)

A:  In my dream world, I wear a mix of Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren Black Label, always with Christian Louboutin heels. In the real world, I tend to stick to a mix of JCrew and urban outfitters, still yummy.

Q: What do you see being big for fall?

A:  With all luck cowboy boots will still be big because I recently invested in some beautiful Justin’s and I plan on wearing them regardless.

Q: What do you think the worst fashion mistake a girl could make is?

A: Derrière crack exposure from too low jeans and too high top. Yuck. Yuck, but everyone’s done it.

Q: What is a fashion staple you believe every girl should have in her closet?

A: Everyone needs a good, solid pair of black patent closed-toe heels and solid, slimming jeans in a medium wash. Also a crisp white business shirt…yum.

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?

A:  Good question. I’m still figuring that out. I want to do something where I can be creative and detail-obsessed at the same time!

Q: Who is your celebrity fashion icon? Why?

A: Right now I love Leighton Meester. She pulls off conservative and funky at the same time. I love everything Mischa Barton does, but I can’t pull off the same looks because I love cheese fries too much. Sigh. I also, like any good Southern girl from Winston-Salem, love the classics: Jackie, Audrey, Grace and Elizabeth T.

Q:  what is your favorite item online right now and why?

A:  http://www.bevello.com/product-p/f18302.htm. Plum Purple Floral and Crochet Tank. Duh. Love it.

a grecian goddess

As Mary and Chan venture through the throes of the glorious Las Vegas, I’m getting excited. Brand new bevello products? Can you say…YES, PLEASEEE.

In the meantime, I shall sit around and contemplate what I should pawn so that I can buy this beaut:

Ah, yes. The one-strap charcoal dress by Frenzii that is to-die-for.

The top has a certain Grecian flare that I just cannot deny. I really like the one-strap look, too. And you cannot choose a better color — gray, which looks good with virtually any skin tone or hair color.

The waist is ruched for a slimming effect. And worry not, this thick, soft cotton is sure to flatter any body type.

Why oh why can’t Christmas be in September? I envy anyone who has already bought this awesome dress. Send me your photos so I can live vicariously?

tube-ular

It’s a tube…and a tunic. Really? Truly. A unique hybrid top, brought to you by bevello, your favorite online clothing boutique.

If you ask me, this is the new hot item of the month. It’s strapless so you wont be weighed down in this intrepid August heat, plus it just HAPPENS to be a gorgeous purple — one of this season’s hottest tones.

The top is designed by Frenzii, an up-and-coming clothing artist.

The bottom is long and flowy, but the waist is banded for a slimming, figure-flattering hourglass shape. Wear it with ANYTHING. Throw on a long gold necklace, and you’ve got yourself a look.

If you like this top, you might also like this gray and mustard maxi dress, also designed by Frenzii:

A Frenzii frenzy? Yes please!

a dress to die for

Some days I want to pitch my entire wardrobe and restock my closet entirely with cute dresses. Too bad my last name isn’t Gates, and I’m far too cheap to throw away anything I’ve spent my own money on.

But THIS dress is at the top of my current MUST-HAVE-RIGHT-NOW list:

Oh, how I pine to rock this adoooooorableeeeee look! The deep V neck is sexy, and the empire waist and loose body will flatter any shape. And the pattern — an adorable peaches-and-cream look with orange and brown leaves.

The sleeves are dolman style. Presh!

This kimono-style dress was made by Frenzii. Get it for just $120.00 at bevello!

long and lovely

For the best in bevello’s haute couture, proceed to the rack with the maxi dresses.

(Though it’s  more of a proverbial rack — but just wait until fall, when bevello’s new store opens in Raleigh. Can’t WAIT.)

If you’ve been on our Web site recently, you must have seen this navy blue palm-printed dress:

This has to be one of the most unique I’ve seen all season. There’s something about the pattern that just distinguishes it from the racks you see at Urban Outfitters.  The fabric in this dress is called viscose, which is thicker and bouncier than your typical cotton. The bust is cinched for added detail, not like this gorgeous dress needs it. A+, Jully Kang!

And this dress, by Frenzii, will be your new addiction:

The single-strap garb, also made with viscose fabric, has a grecian twist. This dress is versatile; night or day — it’s no matter. Plus, the lavender color will flatter any skin tone.

And this Frenzii dress will keep a good foot fashion-forward.

The dress is much simpler than the other two, but sometimes you just need something a bit more casual. The v-top will kick up your curves, but the length on the bottom will keep you from looking too exposed. Well done!

Apparently, shorter isn’t always better!

An outfit for all occasions

The mark of any good fashion investment is versatility. A piece you can modify to accommodate any situation is worth it’s weight in gold — ask any fashionista.

Enter your new best friend, bevello’s own midnight black drape front top:

Designed by Frenzii, this cotton blouse can work in nearly any situation — with the right accoutrement.

Don it at your 9-to-5, paired with a pair of slim-fitting light gray dress pants, like these barely-boot stretch editor slacks from Express:

The pants arent too tight and the top is light and flowy, but both are dressy enough to iron-out your look. Add on some low-heeled ankle boots and you’ll be best dressed in the office.

If you want to wear it to a party or your favorite dance club, grab the top and a pair of dark skinny jeans:

These dark denim skinnys, designed by See Thru Soul and also sold by bevello, would help add some sex appeal to your getup. The Frenzii top, donning the so-in-right-now cowl neck, would offset the skin-tight jeans with sexy curves.  Glam it up with loud silver earrings and a few chunky bracelets and all eyes are on you.

On a more casual day, you may want a top to just putter around in. On those days, direct yourself to bevello’s sunray yellow skirt by Flying Tomato or a pair of walking shorts by See Thru Soul and off you go.

You really can take “The Drape” anywhere!
