Q: What drew you to bevello? (why did you want to work for us)

A: My brother actually is the one that found out about Bevello this past summer. We did some research and I decided I would go for it! I have always preferred to work in a boutique over a department store- so this was my shot. I am glad to get some retail experience and all the knowledge I can gain before I graduate in May.

Q: Other than bevello what else do you do?

A: I am very dedicated to my schoolwork and active on campus with sports and clubs. I love going shopping..of course, I try to spend as much time as I can with my family, friends, and boyfriend.

Q: Describe your personal style?

I dress trendy but casual- don’t like to go overboard. I would prefer to wear jeans with a cute top any day. I will shop at any store that I can find cute styles! Clearance & Sale are my friends. What I see in my closet is a lot of black & bright colors; I really seem to gravitate to black.

Q: What is your favorite in house(bevello) designer?

A: I really do like Trinity and Esley because they are simple but elegant & they fit my style.

Q: What do you see being big for fall?

A: Any style of boots, scarves, lots of layering, and cute sweater dresses. Flowers and plaid has definitely come back in style.

Q: What do you think the worst fashion mistake a girl could make is?

A: Not dressing appropriately for each situation- don’t come looking trashy to an interview. Not looking confident in what she is wearing! Don’t always be a follower- express your own personality!

What not to wear to an interview....or anywhere...really!

Q:What is a fashion staple you believe every girl should have in her closet?

A: I definitely think every girl should have a cami- I wear mine pretty much under all my shirts. Also, a simple but elegant black cocktail length dress.

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?

A:    Ha that is a funny question! Kind of scary for me to even begin to think  about-I have all my life to figure that out.  I hope to have my own boutique one day. In the mean time I want to be a visual merchandiser, buyer, work w/ a designer…I know I have big dreams.

Q: Who is your celebrity fashion icon? Why?

A:   I do not have just one, but if I had to pick I would say Reese Witherpsoon because I have had a lot of people tell me I look like her and she is always dressed so cute !

from intern to shopper

To all my people in the 919 — PLEASE, please do your wardrobes a favor and find your way to Cameron Village to check out the awesome new bevello store.  I don’t care how you get there. Run, jog — fly if you must. It’s that good.

I went in yesterday for the first time, not as a bevello intern, but as a shopper. And let me just begin with one word: wow.

Step foot in the door and you’ll feel enchanted. That may have something to do with the gorgeous wooden gazebo-like structure in the middle of the store, housing a myriad of scarves, jeans and beaded jewelry.  Hugging the walls are racks of dresses, shorts, blouses, vests — you name it. We’re talking four walls of pure, chic bliss. The store even features some products not yet up on the Web site — and at the rate business is going, these items may never make it to Web before they’re sold out! Plus the associates I met were very nice and helpful — such a break from the normal snobbery you can get at most high-end boutique stores.

Suspended from the ceiling are long, draping curtains — formed into a circle to create two closed off fitting rooms. Call me cheesy, I felt like a princess changing in royal quarters. (Bow, knave!) Find a floor-length mirror and sitting stool in the makeshift room as well. You also had tons of room in there! You could twirl around and not even touch the walls. I mean, were a customer to try that, anyway…

So moral of the story: keep watching bevello, your favorite online clothing boutique and, now, brick and mortar store. This is the first of many exciting steps to come, and I feel so lucky to be a part of this great team! Oh, and go out to Cameron Village, ASAP!
