Jeans + Leggings= Jeggings

jeggingsequation1

Time to take skinny jeans to a whole new level!  Squeeze yourself into some jeggings.  This jean/leggings combo is taking Hollywood and celebrities by storm! Ive seen it in tons of celebrity mags !

Anyone “real” out there tried this trend?  and is anyone else thinking what I’m thinking….. uhhh camel toe? yikesss!

Check out some pics of jeggings :

I DO think there’s one rule for jeggings…Don’t go too big or too small. In other words…bird legs stay away and plus size ladies lets not go there with this particular style.  I think you have to be mid-sized to pull off this style for it too be a hit!

Where can you score your very own pair of jeggings?

American Apparel of course!

spring fashion week throwback

Sometimes I like to go back and watch old videos from old spring and fall fashion shows to see if some of the main trends from the runway really made it to the streets. It’s funny to see what trends really kicked off and which ones…not so much.

SO, just for you bevellonians, I’ve gathered some of my favorite runway clips from Spring 2009 Fashion Week in New York. Let’s see what the runway predicted!

This clip is from the Rock & Republic runway show:

Watch for the white mini-dress about a minute in. How many of those have you seen this season? And the dress immediately following, with the poofy-layered skirt. That SO made the cut.

And I LOVED this line from Baby Phat:

The camo green in the beginning really made a splash this year, as did the bright colored shorts just after that walk. ALSO NOTE the myriad of floral prints. Yes!
Anyway, just something fun to do if you’re bored! It wont be long before we’re looking back on Fall Fashion week videos!

what TO wear

Any girl can tell you that adding style to your swag takes more than just a great top paired with a great bottom. I daresay you need even more than just a killer pair of shoes. Blasphemy?

Not really. When it come down to it, I’d have to take good ol’  trend- and product-knowledge over that way-en-vogue, signature Chanel clutch any day. (Disregard how much it pained me to say that, and please don’t ever make me choose!)

I think Glamour agrees. And as a preview to the new Fashions of Fall, Glamour magazine hath crafted a guide, What To Wear for the Next 6 Months, with the ten basic fashion concepts (not just the best pieces) that will rock this season. I thought this guide was great — they lay out the basics but leave plenty of room for your own creativity! No cookie cutters allowed, please.

Here are just a few of their tips and tricks for the upcoming fashion season…

1. Rock the black tights. With everything. This is a trend I can get used to! Love tights. They’re flattering on pretty much anyone, and you don’t have to shave your legs. ;-)

2. Play with prints. Throw a plaid on with a floral scarf, or rock the stripes with a checkered vest.  Mismatching is what’s up — go crazy!

3. White shirts, cinched. Try a white button up with a belt, or a white tee with a cinched-waist blazer jacket. Anything to draw attention to that hourglass shape

I’m liking this season already!

The September Issue gone digital?

The September Issue is blowing up everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

This year, it’s more than just a 5-ton, multi-hundred page book of sweet fashion glory. In following suit with the general media these days, the issue is now in digital. The movie is just the tip of the iceberg.

Because it’s not official until it’s on Facebook, you can find all updates for The September Issue under the self-titled fan page. Already with more than 3,000 fans, that kind of advertising aint half bad.

And in joining in the ranks with the AP Stylebook and Ashton Kutcher, The September Issue is now on Twitter. That’s right, follow the tweets at @septemberissue.

And now, ladies and gents — you can officially puchase The September Issue ringtones. Seriously, next time your BFF calls, you can have “Anna Wintour’s Office” theme ringing to alert you, or try “Famine of Beauty” for the rest of your cronies.

Hello, 2009!

The Fashion Show!

Does anybody watch The Fashion Show on Bravo? It premiered this May and comes on Thursdays at 10:00 p.m.. Word on the street is that it’s amaaa-zing!

From what I gather from the commercials, it’s a bit like Project Runway — and you can NEVER have too many fashion-based reality TV shows. I’m pretty sure my keen eye for amazing fashion (;-)) came from my incessant watching of What Not To Wear as a teenager and the oh-so-amazing week-long marathons of America’s Next Top Model on VH1. (Seriously, Tyra Banks hath delivered to us the stylish equivalent of a bball fan’s March Madness, and we, the fashionistas, are eternally grateful.)

So in The Fashion Show, 15 designers compete to have their designs sold in a retail venue PLUS a prize of $125,000. It’s times like these that make me wish I had talent as a seamstress and/or designer, but alas, I do not.

What makes it even more amazing is that one of the co-hosts is Kelly Rowland. Old school Destiny’s Child, what?

You can find a few of the episodes on YouTube. Behold, episode 1 part 1, for those of you who need to catch up:

This is all getting me really excited for Fall Fashion Week 2009. Can’t wait to see what the new season brings!

The September Issue, chronicled

Oh.

My.

God.

It’s really happening. A movie, totally based on the production of the infamous September Issue of Vogue — aka the most important literature you’ll read all year. This is seriously a big deal. The 2007 issue weighed FOUR POUNDS. That’s like… a small kitten. Put together by filmmaker R.J. Cutlers, the film follows the illustrious Vogue team through Fashion Week, trips to Europe, photo shoots, editorial meetings…the works.

And they finally released the trailer. Check it out! (Also note: Anna Wintour sans the scary intimidating glasses. She looks semi-normal! In a completely FABULOUS way, of course.)

Who else is excited for this?!?!! TWO MONTHS AWAY. I’ll be at a midnight showing somewhere, for SURE.

the joys of swimsuit season

I hate swimsuit season. Can I get an amen?

I refuse to believe that all women fit four cookie-cutter sizes.  Small, Medium, Large or Extra-Large? No, try Small and a half on top, Medium and a third in the middle and  Medium and three-fourths on the bottom. Seriously, it just ain’t that simple. And I’m not wild about I-guess-it-kind-of-fits sizes, especially when it means keeping you decent on the beach.

But according to Cosmopolitan, this is where picking the right bathing suit style for your body can make all the difference.

They say wearing a bikini with an embroidered triangle top like this American Eagle beaut can give the upper half of your body a little  “umph” where it counts.

They recommend this striped suit for those who want to bring out their curves a bit more. The stripes would draw attentions to the right area, and could make you feel more shapely.

Cosmo suggests this looser-fitting Nautica bikini for those with a bit of belly that they’d like to mask. With a comfortable fit and the bunchy top, this suit looks anything but skin-tight, which can help mask any extra winter weight you might be carrying.

This criss-cross one-piece should also reduce the appearance of belly fat. I personally think it’s super cute and bet it would be really forgiving, yet stylish at the same time.

That one is supposed to bring out the best in your rear. I’m guessing it’s the whole boyshorts thing. Brilliant!

Cosmo says halters like these with sturdy cups are great for busty women. I personally love this DKNY suit anyway, but it looks like it’d really be a nice active-wear bathing suit!

So there you have it — six reasons (and 27 more if you check out the Cosmo article) not to fear swimsuit season. Are you rockin’ a round posterior? Head for the boyshorts. Want to hide that extra weight? Go looser, or buy a suit that criss-crosses fabric. Bigger bust? Go halter.

This just goes to show you that you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort, decency or anything else — especially when it comes to picking out your summer suit.

AAAAAAAAMEN.

Famous Foxy Fans: Their favorite looks (and yours!) … for less

I have a talent for flipping through a gossip magazine in record time (especially at those most crucial moments aka waiting in the monstrous check-out line at Target or sunning by the pool for an afternoon). So how does this make me different from any other twenty-something girl in today’s celebrity obsessed culture, you might ask? Well, not only do I truly read them in record speed (we’re talking mere minutes maybe even seconds), but I also read them in reverse … as in back to front. Yes, it really is a gift (or at least I like to tell myself that it is).

But even more than catching up on the latest Brangelina news (Are they legit headed for Splitsville?! And what about Brad’s alleged late night “rendezvous” with Jenn?! … I love seeing what my favorite celebrities are wearing! My photographic memory soaks up each and every picture … inspiring my next outfit combination or new purchase.

I have to admit, though, my gift for speed reading (combined with my photographic memory) isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Unfortunately, there was that one time a check-out clerk scolded me as I attempted to tackle several magazines at once, saying, “You know, you do have to pay for those before you read them.” Not my proudest moment … even after I did what any girl in my shoes would do: I reassured her that I was a modern day Goldilocks … merely flipping through the issues to decide which one was right for purchasing!

Perhaps, the biggest drawback to my hidden talent, however, is that I always end up a little disheartened when I put an issue down. Like the majority of fashionistas out there, I crave the latest looks and designer pieces from Hollywood’s A-listers … but have a very limited budget (even more so these days). Take the two-tone Chanel flats Cameron Diaz has been wearing while out and about in NYC. Justifying them? Fuhgeddaboudit! I can’t even afford them! So what’s a girl to do?!

Well, lucky for me, one of bevello’s independent designers, Foxy Originals, is here to help! Foxy Originals offers stylish, affordable jewelry seen on quite a few celebrities (just enough following to make it cool and not overdone). Trust me, I’ll be stocking up on these items to compliment my summer (and early fall!) wardrobe. And you should, too! After all, it’s not often that we can score the exact same piece that a starlet is wearing … without breaking the bank! Designer duds plus extra money (thank you sale price!) for a night out with the girls?! Another reason why bevello is your one-stop online fashion boutique!

Its sooo easy to feel naked in your life when you forget your phone at home or lose it.  Now, don’t let you phone go naked! or worse yet endure one of those aweful black rubber skins! BORING!!  My fave is the lil vest!!

yeah, they were all yellowwwwww

I never liked yellow. EVER. I thought it was one of the worst colors I could wear with my fair complexion and dark hair.  I also thought I’d look like a banana. Or a caution sign.  SOMETHING unnatural. Any of you know the feeling?

But noooooooow, I can’t get enough.

The urge to buy something yellow hit me for the first time (literally, I think it was the first in all of my 20+ years of existence) about six months ago. I was deep in the depths of Forever 21 when I came across this adorrrable mustard yellow tee. It was really simple, but looked SUPER cute when I paired it with the black vest I was also buying. And that was the beginning of my obsession with yellow garb.

But I’m not alone! Bevello, your favorite online fashion boutique, has totally got the yellow covered this summer.
